  • Wickenberg High School

Wickenburg consists of an approximate population of 7,000 and is located approximately 50 miles North-West of Phoenix.  Nestled in the Hassayampa River Valley, at the foot of the Bradshaw Mountains, Wickenburg is famous for its western hospitality and its tourist attractions.  An Apache word, Hassayampa roughly translates as “river which runs upside down,” a name attributed to the fact that its waters occasionally run underground. The Old 761 Santa Fe Steam Locomotive pounded the rails between Chicago and the west in the late 1800’s and stopped near the Wickenberg Town Hall.
