Experience That Makes a Difference

Protech was founded in 1988 in the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas, NV. Our mission was to combine our expertise in the performing arts industry with a state of the art, safety-conscious equipment line with the most competitive pricing available.

Since that time, Protech has grown to become a premier installation, manufacturing, and design firm throughout the world. With an impressive portfolio spanning more than 2000 projects ranging from the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas to small high schools and churches, Protech’s expertise includes both manual and automated rigging, lifts, fire curtains, variable acoustics, drapery, and safety equipment used in performing arts venues and night clubs. Our unique line of products includes run-away prevention devices, industry leading lift and control systems, and even green products which qualify for LEED credits.

Our unique position as a designer, manufacturer, and installer allows us to cut out non-value added markups as well as share our expertise with contractors and consultants who are not familiar with the challenges and pitfalls unique to the theatrical industry. We are able to provide estimates and value-added engineering during the design phase of new construction and engage in real time file sharing to reduce lead time. Protech has worked with many of the world’s leading consultants, architects, and contractors applying our experience in both renovations and public works projects in addition to new construction.

In addition to theatrical experience, Protech regularly contracts, manufactures, and installs products used for heavy material handling applications for both general industry and the military. Our expertise in life safety critical overhead hoisting draws a great number of parallels between theatres and numerous other applications. We specialize in rapid development of custom products.

Michigan Tech: Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts
“Protech’s wealth of knowledge and considerable experience in both installations and R&D should set an example for other rigging manufacturers. As with any construction project there are always hurdles and conflicts that can take a clean design and turn it into a maze of mule blocks and cable. Protech spent a considerable amount of time coordinating with other trades to minimize conflicts. Protech is the wave of the future and I would recommend their team to any project that wants to be successful and stay on budget!”
